Mental health meets convenience
Why go to therapy? Everyone experiences periods of stress, sadness, conflict and grief. Sometimes we can manage it alone but sometimes having a safe space to talk about it can be helpful. At MHCWC, we understand that life can be complicated and we are committed to helping all individuals overcome the interpersonal stressors in their lives. Our therapeutic approach is practical and employs a variety of methodologies to offer a highly individualized and personal experience.

According to the American Psychological Association, nearly one-third of all Americans suffer from significant sources of stress 1. In recent years, an ever-changing society has been the cause for substantial uncertainty. Many of the causes for this include the COVID-19 pandemic, the recent rise in everyday prices due to inflation, supply chain issues, the war in Ukraine and global uncertainty. As of October 2022, nearly 27% of Americans report that they are so stressed they cannot function 2. While some individuals are capable of managing their stressors on their own, many are not so lucky. Stress that's left unchecked can lead to a variety of health problems, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes.
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) reported that in 2020 an estimated 52.9 million adults age 18 or older suffer from a mental illness3. This represented nearly one-fifth of all Americans. A mental illness is defined as a mental, behavioral, or emotional disorder, and can range from no impairment to mild, moderate, and even severe impairment. Some mental illnesses are considered to be severe, which can leave a person with serious functional impairments. Unfortunately, of the 52.9 million people, only 46% of those individual sought mental health treatment within that past year.
