No-Fault Motor Vehicle Accidents

Have you recently been involved in a car accident?  Do you feel nervous or anxious about driving?

Involvement in a car accident is a widespread occurrence for many Americans on a daily basis.  A motor vehicle accident can be a traumatic and difficult experience for anyone.  Often times, a victim can be left with more than just physical pain.  Depression, anxiety, PTSD, nightmares, sleep disturbance, and fear of driving are not uncommon.

Perhaps you have certain triggers—like driving somewhere new—that have developed into “Anticipatory Anxiety.”

New York is a No-Fault state.  If you or your passengers sustain injuries in a car accident, medical bills are paid for by your driver’s insurance policy.

The focus of treatment of victims of motor vehicle accidents is primarily physical.  Unfortunately, the psychological assessment and treatment of the accident victim is usually ignored.  Without psychological treatment, some victims of motor vehicle accidents suffer unnecessarily from emotional or psychological/behavioral difficulties.  The psychological effects of motor vehicle accidents range from feelings of anxiety (specific to driving situations) to the development of significant distress, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD
